Conceiving: The Most Effective Period Tracking Tool

Let me start from the very beginning before I became Anakin’s Mom.

“My medical advice for you is to have sex every day, or at least every other.”

A collection of words I never thought I’d hear. But, doctors’ orders, right?

I have always had an incredibly irregular period and hardly ever ovulated. So figuring out the right time to conceive was close to impossible. Luckily, I discovered Clue.

This is not your ordinary period tracking app. It allowed me not only the capability to record the flow and length of my period but also to add what mood I was in, my sex drive, any discomfort I had, and most importantly, discharge. The app provides an in-depth explanation of all the different discharge colors and textures. Before Clue, I thought there was just one type – “white and kinda gross”. Nope, there’s about four. So if you have, for example, white and sticky but lotion consistency – note it.

The more information you add, the smarter Clue becomes. You will slowly see a sun appear each month, telling you the best times to try to conceive. It took the guessing out of it, which was super helpful, especially for a couple that was somehow having sex daily.

Now I knew the best times to have sex and what all the fun liquids meant. Clue takes it a step further and has you add when you have sex. This was useful for me because I was able to pinpoint the exact day our son was conceived. (December 10th, while my husband had a cast on his foot, and we played R . Kelly in the background).

So, what’s next? Well, I also recorded how I felt each day. If I was in a bad mood, sad, tired, etc. How was my sex drive? You can select this too – my favorite is the bunny icon next to high sex drive.

A month later, I started noticing a trend in how I was feeling. I was tired almost daily and in an incredibly foul mood. There was nothing that made me feel better. And then it happened.
